Dawnmarie has worked with ages 3 all the way to geriatric clients. Dawnmarie is experienced in working with individuals, families, and couples. Dawnmarie is trained in play therapy, trauma informed care, Cognitive behavioral therapy, and Dialectical behavioral therapy. Dawnmarie focuses in the whole body and understanding how our brain are bodies connect with one another. Dawnmarie has worked in outpatient, inpatient, and residential settings. Dawnmarie has experince working with a variety of diagnoses, co-occuring disorders, and serious mental illness diagnoses.

Sometimes our struggles seem so overwhelming that we are not able to see a way to work through them. Sometimes we just stop feeling like ourself and cannot figure out how to change that. And sometimes we end up being controlled by our overwhelming emotions instead of feeling like we are managing them. Hello and welcome. I am a Licensed Associate Counselor working under Supervision at Better Days Behavioral Health in Chandler with extensive experience in both public agencies and private practice. I provide general mental health counseling for teens and adults with a specialization in treating Substance Use Disorders (SUDs). I offer in-person sessions at our office in Chandler and via telehealth, if desired.

I have over 25 years of professional experience. It takes an act of courage to come to counseling. I look to provide a place where clients can work through their concerns without being judged. I see individuals and work on with them on anxiety, shame, guilt, feeling powerless, impulse control, anger, depression, addiction, life transitions and career/ school difficulties. I work with couples to promote healthy communication, safety, vulnerability and intimacy. I work with children to develop behavioral and emotional coping skills to succeed at home and school. I work with families to resolve conflict.

I want to support those who are caring for loved, and not so loved ones, through their process of dementia. I know it's helpful to have a therapist who is familiar and experienced in this area of care. Don't be alone and frustrated, if you can help it. Therapy is a great way to provide support for yourself. Being open to healing old hurts if and when they come up is also very helpful. There are some things I cannot help with and will provide referrals as needed and available. Unfortunately, I do not take insurance at this time.
