I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and have been providing counseling services since 2017. I work with individuals (18+) and couples to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Counseling provides the groundwork to process challenges, develop new skills, access inner strength, gain confidence, heal, and flourish. My focus is to empower you to reach your goals by exploring beneath the surface, while helping you to develop skills to address your concerns . I will work with you to customize a holistic treatment plan to fit your needs.

In addition, I have an extensive background in serving clients with complex developmental trauma when a more concentrated approach is needed to succeed. I am a seasoned therapist who has over 15 years of clinical experience working with individuals across a broad cultural spectrum. I have a special interest in treating anxiety-related disorders such as stress, generalized anxiety, social anxiety and trauma, but I also address symptoms of depression that often coexist with anxiety. I am experienced in addressing issues that may arise during life transitions, such as parenting, going to college, divorce, empty nest, aging and grief.

I attained a BA degree in English Literature from Bethel University, a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Seminary, and a Masters in Counseling degree from the University of North Texas. From 1995, I've worked in several counseling agencies, psychiatric hospitals, a medical institution in Dallas, and private practice therapy services in the Dallas metro area. In these past years, I have assisted many individuals, couples, and families to process their concerns and overcome difficulties.

My clinical practice primarily involves working with individuals and couples who are navigating significant life transitions. My passion is helping people realize their individual gifts and ultimately accept themselves fully. I work with a broad range of areas including depression, anxiety, relationships, mindfulness, women's issues, adolescent issues, trauma and grief. My areas of specialty and expertise are in CBT, EMDR, eating disorders, adolescent issues, binge eating, anxiety, coping with chronic illness and parenting skills.

My clinical psychology practice involves working with adults experiencing significant life transitions as well difficult emotional states. For many, depression and anxiety that stem from loss, grief and isolation, have been more difficult to manage because of the pandemic. Self-esteem and relationship difficulties have also been more troublesome during this time. I am particularly interested in helping people learn new ways to adapt to changing life circumstances, such as the consequences of the pandemic, adult children leaving home, managing chronic illness, deaths of significant others, and loss of what is familiar.
