I am a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience helping people recover from a wide range of challenges including self esteem issues, anxiety, marital conflict, depression, emotional eating, anorexia, bulimia, and stress related issues. I have expertise in treating children, adolescents, and adults. My approach is compassionate as well as goal focused. Welcome! As a Pennsylvania Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I operate from a bio/psycho/social/spiritual context. We are complex humans with complex stories and needs. I take all aspects of your story into consideration when creating a treatment plan in a collaborative manner so we can best meet your needs and goals. I have worked with people from various cultural, racial, economic, sexual preference/identify and religious backgrounds. Whether you are dealing with depression, anxiety, family conflict, relationship conflict or navigating the stressful and overwhelming world we live in I can help.

Simply stated, I believe the main goal of therapy is to help you feel and function better. I approach counseling/therapy as a collaboration between you and me. It is an active process. (I won't just sit, passively listening to you talk, for 45 minutes, occasionally nodding my head.) We will decide what the issues are, formulate effective strategies to make necessary changes in thoughts and behaviors (including learning new skills if necessary), and work together to implement successfully those strategies. I will (with your input) tailor the therapeutic process to best fit your needs.

In therapy, I try to understand and accept each person. That builds the client's self-esteem. Then I work together with the client to find the unique solution to his or her trouble, whether it's depression, or anxiety, or relationship problems. Different people need different kinds of help, so I don't limit myself to one kind of therapy. I'm trained in several, so the client and I pick the methods we think will help him or her the most. The relationship is one of mutual respect moving forward to overcome an obstacle to the client's happiness.

Since starting in the field about 20 years ago, I have had the privilege of working therapeutically with diverse populations in various clinics, hospitals, and schools. Over the past several years I have focused on treating clinical and forensic clients through my private practice.
