My goal in working with patients is to provide a safe and calm environment to explore issues of concern to them. I understand that it is not always easy to speak about problems, but I believe that through careful listening and gentle inquiry, it is possible to begin to gain insight into feelings and behaviors. I very much respect the needs of each individual, and work in a way that recognizes that people have different ways of expressing themselves, and that it is critical to give people an opportunity to tell their own story in their own way, and in their own time.
I have worked with individuals with a range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, and relationship/family issues. I have had a good deal of experience in working with those from the creative fields, and I understand some of the factors unique to creative endeavors.
I practice psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy. As a trained psychoanalyst, I will work with you to uncover the unconscious processes that impact your life.
