Many of our psychological and emotional problems have been worsened over time by systemic and political practices, policies and institutions which also affect us spiritually. My father worked as a caseworker in New York and my mother is a registered nurse. Is it any wonder that I often attract caring clients seeking to balance stress (sometimes PTSD) as they strive to assist others. Many of my clients are caregivers- looking after family members, counselors, pastoral care workers, shamanic practitioners or healers. The rest tend to be people seeking tools to make sense out of their lives and their experiences. I provide a calm port in the storm of life. I have worked extensively in community behavioral health settings and have a wealth of experience to share with licensee's. Beyond general personal growth counseling, I also specialize in assisting individuals whose lives have been, to varying degrees, dismantled by non-life-threatening physical health issues. Symptoms and what we tell ourselves can disrupt the flow of home, relationship, and work life. Lives can shrink to ways of being in the world that are unfamiliar, scary, and unsettling – leading us to wonder who we’ve become, what our futures hold, etc. Family members, friends, and health care providers can assist us, though may lack the experience/knowledge necessary to help map out and lead us through the intricacies of the journey.
