Announcement icon I am currently providing teletherapy sessions via phone or online via FaceTime or Zoom.
As a child/adolescent therapist and parent-child specialist, I know that parenting will always have its challenges and that a certain amount of stress is inevitable, even under the best of circumstances. However, this current pandemic, with its consequent uncertainties and increased challenges and stresses on families, is unprecedented. If you are a parent who is having difficulties or are the parent of a young child, teen or young adult who is having difficulties, talking to a professional can be helpful.
I work with parents to help them trust their own choices and develop confidence in a parenting style that reflects their personal values. I use an age-appropriate combination of play and talk therapy to help young children and teens work through their social, school and/or family anxieties. I offer traditional insight-oriented therapy for adults.
While my approach may vary depending on who my client is, my goals remain constant: to help the child, teen, parent(s) or individual adult reduce anxiety, improve communication and find increased joy in themselves, in their activities, and in the significant others in their lives.

First Time Moms

While being a first time mom is a joyful experience, it can also be, at times, a bit daunting. After all, it is a life altering journey with many new and unexpected challenges along the way. As a parent-child specialist, I'm conducting an ongoing psychotherapy support group for first-time moms. This group offers a safe place for you to ask questions, get useful information, share strategies and express and address anxieties with others who are at the same or similar stage, with my professional guidance.

Parenting The "Too-Empowered" Child

When your child ignores you or, even worse, rudely refuses a reasonable request, do you find yourself thinking "What have I done wrong?" In this child-centered world, kids are encouraged "to be seen and to be heard." That's a good thing. Still, the scenario of the "too-empowered" child has become commonplace and is challenging. And if you are a parent who has difficulty handling these challenging moments, you may be interested in joining my psychotherapy/support group. It focuses on exploring creative strategies which will help you to manage these situations in a firm yet loving way.
