I'm an LMFT with a passion for social justice and a firm belief in the transformative power of therapy. I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for individuals, couples, and families. I am a sex-positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and BDSM/Kink-friendly mental health clinician. I enjoy working with those whose goals are to: develop a strong sense of self, build healthy coping mechanisms and resilience, improve relationships and communication skills, achieve emotional stability/well-being, heal from past traumas, & break negative cycles to create positive changes for themselves and for future generations.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I draw from various modalities, including; Bowenian, Experiential, and Attachment theories, tailoring my approach to meet client goals.
Recognizing that each person's identity is shaped by a unique combination of social, cultural, and systemic factors, I am dedicated to understanding the complexities of clients' lived experiences and embracing the diversity within our society. Therapeutic Use of Cartoons
What better way to spend a Saturday morning than watching cartoons?! This is a weekly group for ages 10-13. Using the cartoon, Steven Universe, we explore themes of friendship, boundaries, self-esteem, conflict resolution, and more! Most insurance plans are accepted, including IL Medicaid. The self-pay option is $25 a session.
