The creation of a genuine relationship based on empathy, presence and acceptance is at the center of my approach. As a therapist, mediator and educator, I have experience working with a variety of populations: children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. I have extensive experience working with parents and children experiencing separation and divorce. Additionally, I teach workshops and classes in the areas of conflict transformation, communication skills, and divorce. In the collaborative law process, I serve as a child specialist and coach.
In therapy, I incorporate emotion focused therapy, a theoretically grounded, and empirically supported therapy. An important goal of therapy is to help people learn how to experience and use their emotions, both pleasant and unpleasant, as guiding wisdom to figure out how to get their needs met.
I believe in each person's tendency toward growth and mastery and skillfully working with emotion often leads to change.
