Eileen F Dougherty
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LMSW
The world is a wondrous place, but it doesn’t seem so to one locked in turmoil or living in fear. I work with people who feel stuck, worthless, depressed and anxious. We explore the sources of such feelings and work towards easing the pain. Psychotherapy offers the opportunity to see the world from a different point of view; an exploration of all that comes before and leads to the here and now. A unique therapeutic alliance develops, supporting you in a safe and confidential environment.
With a background in both the arts and business, my practice consists of creative as well as corporate clients. I enjoy working with academics, actors, writers and those embarking on new careers. Learning the sources of discontent, listening to the internal components of the unconscious lead you to another perspective.
Expressing it all in words, as never before, facilitates change. You can feel the difference as you discover and cast off the repetitions that keep you running in place. You can move forward into the present. This process can alter your course by mere degrees. You will find yourself redirected and moving towards a new and different destination.
