I feel privileged when I am invited into your life to share in your pain and suffering in order to try to help you understand, heal and grow from the emotional wounds and trauma you have experienced. I believe our relationship is one between two equal individuals who will work hard to help heal and understand your wounds. My approach focuses on helping you understand your feelings, emotions, and motivations; those you are aware of and those you are not.
Doctor Schmitt is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 35 years of experience. He completed his Doctoral degree at Central Michigan University in 1993. He interned in the Department of Psychiatry at Henry Ford Hospital, a top 25 Hospital and is a published researcher. He is on the Board of Directors of the Midwest Center for Diversity & Inclusion.
