Form meets function is how I approach neurodivergent affirming therapy. Insight into the why of our emotions and experiences is a fundamental element of therapy. But the functional component of how and what to do with that knowledge is what facilitates effective personal change, healing, and growth.
Using a holistic approach, I think about how societal and cultural norms; past and present relationships; physical health; lived experiences; and personal values inform what you are struggling with or challenged by.
I practice from a client-centered, trauma informed care, harm reduction, and feminist lens.
Meeting client's where they are at and their support style preferences is the name of my game. My sessions are often structured, incorporate gentle directness, and end with concrete strategies to integrate into your life and resources to use outside of the therapy space. I can also offer art therapy for folks interested in the process.
A health dose of dismantling systemic oppression, radical acceptance and care for others, and creativity is my therapy style. So if you are someone who needs a gentle push, compassionate accountability, and guidance on how to make and experience change, I may be a great fit for you!
