We all experience daily challenges to our sense of personal effectiveness and identity, safety and physical security, and belonging to others who welcome and understand us. When our efforts to deal with these challenges are not working, we can experience behaviors, thoughts, and feelings that are distressing or even disabling. This can be expressed as angry feelings or behavior, uncontrolled anxiety and fears, or unproductive or harmful ways to deal with these emotions.
I offer psychotherapy: Healing the problems of emotion, thinking, relationships, and behavior that can make life so difficult.
Healing involves deep self knowledge and the determination to gain control of your mind and your life. I will help you attain this, drawing upon my 60+ year study of scientific and traditional perspectives of the mind, my clinical experience, and my long and varied life. I use a blend of therapies, mainstream and made to order, and avoid diagnostic labels.
Relief starts with talking to someone who will listen to you and understand your experience, suspending interpretation, analysis, and coaching until you are ready hear it and act on it. When you are ready to do the work necessary for change, call or email me to get started. A new direction starts with a decision, a commitment, and the support of therapy.
