I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I offer individual, family, and couples therapy. Although my treatment orientation is primarily cognitive-behavioral, I often utilize an eclectic approach when best suited for client progress.

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist (SC 753) with over 30 years of private practice experience. Currently, I am in private practice with offices in both Beaufort and Bluffton, South Carolina. Prior to private practice, I worked in many outpatient clinics and inpatient hospitals which have thoroughly prepared me for the range of psychological issues that individuals face on a day-to-day basis. My therapeutic approach is both personalized and eclectic, designed to tackle the range of life problems that affect all of us in life.

As a Psychotherapist or Life Coach, our collaboration is rigorous, productive and fun. Often I ask questions, implement exercises or give homework with some outcomes in mind. Other times I am just excited to discover what else we learn. Then together we can develop action steps based on the best information. I enjoy saying that my specialty is working with anyone who chooses to walk in my door! I am always impressed with my clients' willingness to trust, and engage, in our work together to achieve their goals, make important changes, decrease pain, and expand understanding, happiness and passion.

Stress is often the start pointing of depression and anxiety. Stress makes it difficult to set boundaries, participate in self-care, communicate, and several other factors that drive our life forward. I am eclectic in my therapy approach collaborating with each client to achieve their goals. Generally I emphasize cognitive and behavioral techniques combined with sufficient psychodynamic understanding of our personality functioning. I work with alternative techniques, including hypnosis. I am known for my optimistic energy and engaging, nurturing style. I look into each client to see excitement rather than anxiety, adventure rather than apprehension, vitality rather than drudgery, empowerment rather that loss of control, courage and strength rather than pain. I advocate trying something new, breaking the old patterns that continue to produce the unwanted consequences.

I am a License Professional Counselor. My background consists of developmental-behavioral mod in autism spectrum disorder and other related disorders. I am a seasoned 24 year specialist trained and experience in counseling with a specialty in mental health, developmental disabilities and family therapy. I am a member of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professionals. I am an appointed member of the S.C. Notary Public. I offer tele-mental health services.My aim is to foster the understanding of healthy living with a healthy mindset. My counseling approach is research evidence based using a modality of eclectic therapies.

It is often that when you have difficulties managing your emotions, they have a negative impact on your closest relationships. My goal is to support understanding of where these symptoms originate and how we can work to manage them. I specialize in working with people who have difficulties with their mood, relationships, and having the life they want. I also have expertise in conducting psychological assessment for diagnostic for school accommodations, by assessing for learning disorders and ADHD, as well as for diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations.
