My goal for the counseling relationship is to create a safe environment while offering support to clients struggling with feeling alone, misunderstood, or lost. I show up for clients with an open mind and an opportunity to share their thoughts, express their feelings, and explore their experiences. Everyone deserves the opportunity to speak their truth and be heard and affirmed in return.

I work with clients ranging from young adults to older, presenting with a variety of concerns such as depression, anxiety, trouble adjusting to life changes, relationship problems, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues and more. I approach counseling through a person-centered and holistic lens. With the use of empathic listening, validation, and a non-judgmental environment, I will facilitate your progress through self-growth and acceptance.

Life can be difficult. Work, relationships, school, and the various other demands can cause someone to feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or depressed. Add to these common demands the influences of ADHD, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other forms of mental illness and navigating through life can feel impossible. I provide a comfortable, client-centered environment for exploration and processing in order to make life more manageable.

I am very passionate about my work with my clients. I use a humanistic and attachment-based approach with a systemic lens. I use a trauma-informed approach. I strive to assist my clients with reaching their goals through supportive reflection, insight building and expressive techniques. I see myself as a compass in a client's journey, assisting them reach their goal destination. I work well with a variety of personality types and presenting concerns, ranging from core attachment injuries to trauma to infidelity to anxiety & depression among others. I use a variety of techniques based on client fit.

I have a soft spot for working with adolescents and young adults, especially young women and individuals from the LGBTQ+ community. We collaboratively work together to identify goals and to create a plan to move toward them. In counseling, we work on enhancing self-esteem, self-worth, and independence by targeting negative beliefs. Clients and I have worked through a host of concerns including anxiety, depression, OCD, adjusting through life transitions, breakups, and identity issues.

Individuals thrive toward their potential when their relationships are healthy and supportive. Being in healthy relationship is how we, as individuals and families, are sustained in the long term. Relationships that are healthy are consistent, have structure, are interdependent, and provide instruction that fosters individual and collective resiliency and progress. When relationships are in crisis, individuals must be guided toward identifying the behaviors and attitudes that bring on conflict. When this awareness is achieved, change is possible. Here, attention to individual and relationship needs is equally important in the therapeutic process.

Welcome! I provide mental health, addiction, and marriage counseling to adults, teens, and couples for a variety of issues. I believe that the connection between client and counselor is very important so I work to create a comfortable, supporting, and warm environment for you. I use my personality to "feel" what's been going on and to try to better understand how it's been impacting you. My approach is very empowering which helps you to take back control of your life. Counseling For Wellness believes that counseling is an individual experience. We practice a collaborative and person centered approach for an all-encompassing therapeutic experience; incorporating CBT, EMDR, mindfulness, yoga, nutrition, neuroscience, essential oils, community resources, reiki, and psycho-education. We work with clients of all ages and that struggle with a range of adjustments, life changes, anxieties, depression, grief, trauma, ADHD, relationship/family struggles, general personal growth, and overall mental health concerns.

If standard talk therapy has felt like trying to fit yourself into a box, Art Therapy could be a hands on approach to creatively express yourself without needing to have the words. As Bob Ross said, "There are no mistakes, just happy accidents”. I am passionate about embracing the creative process through Art Therapy. This process sometimes looks like making sense of past experiences to gain a deeper understanding of those events. Other times, Art Therapy is a means of expressing oneself or even exploring the self.
