I'm an eclectic and flexible clinician, drawing from insight-oriented therapies to cognitive-behavioral methods.
I work with life transitions, grief, and spirituality. Maybe your sense of purpose or meaning has gone missing - maybe someone you know is no longer here, or perhaps something you thought was a certainty in your life - a job, a relationship, a friend, a pet, a community, your health or very life - is not so certain anymore. You don't know why or maybe even how. That's okay. We'll start there. We'll hold space together as we work collaboratively to build awareness, cultivate compassion toward your self no matter how your self shows up, and act toward your values and desires.

I've completed a 9 month post graduate practicum in Experiential and Client Centered Psychotherapy and it informs my practice, though I'm eclectic in my approach.
I am a solution focused therapist with 35 years of experience. My therapy style is cognitive, interactive, compassionate, and, if need be, challenging. I believe effective therapy should produce change, not just insight. I will listen to you deeply, help conceptualize the problems, patterns, and dynamics which are causing you trouble, and give you feedback. Together, we will develop a strategy for more effective functioning and a better quality of life. I have a general practice, but specialize in addictions, depression, anxiety, and couples therapy.

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my MSW from the University of Northern Iowa in 2018, where I specialized in trauma processing and trauma-informed care. I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist and work with depression, anxiety, anger management, and addiction, among other issues. I like to use an eclectic style in my treatment modalities, and I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” in therapy. I think people are the experts on their own experiences, so I enjoy working with individuals to tailor their mental health services to meet their needs.

I use an eclectic theoretical orientation that includes cognitive behavioral, narrative, interpersonal, and person-centered therapy.
Through rapport-building and a collaborative, judgment-free therapeutic relationship, I strive to create a safe and comforting space in which my clients gain insight into their lives, feel empowered, and experience reduced symptoms. I aim to exude warmth and compassion with my clients and support them as they learn about their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, and work towards their goals. My clients have described me as patient, trustworthy and engaging.

To me, therapy is a team sport. I'm there to help create a space and relationship where you feel safe exploring the things that are happening in your life. Maybe that thing is identity exploration, depression or anxiety that just won't quit, or figuring out how survive and then thrive after a big trauma. All of this is big stuff. I'm here to help you hold it and find a way through it. I have plenty of tools that I can bring to bear (questions, coping skills training, identifying patterns, and reframing situations), but ultimately, my approach centers around you and what you need to be successful, however you define success.

The ideal client, my colleagues tell me, is someone who respects the boundaries of the relationship, knows when and how to use their therapist (we tell you) and tries to do "homework," the assignments talked about in therapy that are likely to help. Mostly there isn't any! And it doesn't matter anyway. People come to therapy because they need it, not because they want to hang out, and they want something to change, not only in others, but in themselves. Therapy is, or should be, a safe place. Most seasoned therapists are still in it because they find it effective and personally gratifying. I guess I'm one.

I work with individuals utilizing an integrative approach that combines aspects of humanistic, existentialism, and is anchored in harm-reduction. My work is rooted in the ecological systems theory; placing emphasis on the socioeconomic circumstance that impact individuals and their communities. I'm affirming of all sexual orientations and gender identities. I aim to keep Abolition centered in my therapeutic orientation, as shame need not hide in my office. Lastly, as we build our therapeutic alliance, I'm aware of the inherent power dynamics my presence can have in a therapy room while I offer my services on colonized land.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship should provide a space for unconditional acceptance. Each individual, no matter their age or ability is the expert of their own lives. My approach is to help each of my clients uncover and remind them of, the best parts of themselves.

I see therapy as an opportunity to know yourself better, care for yourself better, and better understand your life choices. Additionally, therapy can assist you in better understanding your most important relationships, past and present. We will work together to create a safe and supportive environment for this exploration and self-understanding. With this deepened awareness you can make the life choices that best suit and serve you, and can live your life with more intention.

"Without a struggle, there can be no progress." ~ F. Douglass. It takes courage and strength for people to admit they are going through more than they can handle. If you are going through something difficult, you don't have to go through it alone. Therapy is a space where it's safe to share and reflect upon thoughts, feelings and challenges. My job as a therapist is to ensure my clients feel understood and learn to manage challenges that may come up in life. I am here to support you.

Hi, I'm Dr. Greg. Helping clients cope with depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues is the focus of my practice. I try to maintain a balanced approach using an individual blend of theory and insight, practical applications, and humor. This can include discussions of physical, emotional, mental, and metaphysical wellbeing. Anger, work stress, frustration, loss, trauma and life's unexpected complications can get in between us and a peaceful experience of living. Assisting people in overcoming these challenges is my life's work. Please reach out to someone if it seems your life is being directed by negative emotions.

I enjoy working with people who have come to "stuck places" in their lives. We all have times when we are not able to overcome life circumstances on our own. I work with my clients to unlock those inner resources to help them break through overwhelming circumstances and challenges. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by emotional issues or are just looking to move your life to a different place, therapy can provide a place of exploration and safety to reach your goals.

I am a relational therapist working with individuals, couples, and those in non-traditional relationships. Seeking support from psychotherapy is a sign of inner strength and hope, even when it feels as if ones world has turned inside-out. Life rarely allows any of us a free pass; births and deaths, personal crises, relationship troubles, childhood trauma, etc. may meet any one of us head-on at sometime during our lives. Seeking help from psychotherapy is a worthwhile path to take when ways of coping no longer seem effective. I nurture the possibility of deeper understanding and self-knowledge by creatively engaging the whole person.

Stories have always been important to me. I find myself inspired, enthralled, and humbled by the stories of people and their relationships with each other. I believe in the importance of honoring each story I hear and working with clients to help their life be as they imagine it to be. I find value in working with my clients to understand the impact of their important relationships to their lives. I love being a therapist and I feel humbled and fortunate every day to be in this profession. My approach to working with clients is to get to know their narrative and help them identify the obstacles that are constraining them.

Life can sometimes be challenging and painful. There are times when you need someone to talk to that’s objective, an outside source that’s compassionate and will not only listen but understand and “get it”.

Life can be stressful. We are constantly bombarded with news, both good and bad: requests from family and friends, work deadlines, and living with the unknown. Taking time to talk through our worries, fears, and learn more about ourselves can be endlessly rewarding. How do we learn to have boundaries? How do we learn that self-compassion does not mean selfish? How do we learn to start recognizing patterns and making positive change in our lives? How do we build connection? Therapy can help us achieve these goals while processing our fears, traumas, and doubts, as well as cheering on our accomplishments, no matter their size.

Eclectic Therapists
Many practitioners take an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing upon various aspects of cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic methods to create their own custom-made approach. Such therapists often work with their clients to create a treatment plan that encompasses different techniques to best address the client's particular problems and to appeal to their sensibility.
