I am honored to walk alongside my clients on their journey, providing guidance, support, encouragement, and a strong knowledge of evidenced-based therapeutic interventions and skills to aid in growth and healing. Thus, I use a person-centered, trauma-informed, eclectic style in order to tailor my interventions to best fit the needs and goals of each individual client.

As a eclectic therapist, I provide services that best meet the clients current needs. My goal is to meet you where you are and work with you to get where you want to go. I work with young adults, adolescents, and children as young as preschool age that are having difficulty adjusting in the classroom environment, home environment and/or any life transition. I understand that the most effective way to assist the client is to also work with the family; therefore, parenting and family sessions may be encouraged. In our world with so many ways and/or devices to keep us close or connected, why are we so ‘disconnected’. Why are our relationships in shambles? Sometimes we need support, encouragement, and guidance to help us get through the hard times. As your therapist, it is my responsibility to work myself out of a job. I use various methods and ways to support and encourage a better way of living. When we are hurt, we often act in ways that are self-protecting, but are detrimental to the relationship.

With the focus on family systems, brief solutions, CBT, transgenerational, Solution Focused Therapy, and other therapeutic approaches, I work collaboratively with my clients to provide effective tools and strategies for personal and spiritual growth and healing. My diverse background includes counseling couples, families, and individuals dealing with various issues such as grief, trauma, self-esteem, communication, and conflict resolution.

My purpose is to inspire and empower others by helping them develop life skills and make the necessary changes to transform their lives. I received a Master of Science degree in counseling from the University of North Georgia in 200l. I found my passion in 2015 when I made a career change from higher education to mental health counseling. I never thought this would be as fulfilling as it has been. I am also an experienced educator with a twenty-one-year career in higher education. I earned a Ph.D. in Leadership for Higher Education with experience as a dean, academic advisor, financial aid counselor, student leader, and life coach.

I specialize in helping women whose spouse is struggling with problematic sexual behavior, affair recovery, and marriage issues counseling. Hope begins when you get unstuck and find a way forward. I understand the pain, anxiety, and loneliness that comes when a marriage relationship has drifted apart or even has been shattered by cheating or addictive behaviors. I also know that if both partners are willing to do the work, they can build marriage number 2 that is vibrant, connected, and joyful. My clients have said they "feel comfortable", "cared for", "given hope", "found a way forward", and "feel so much better after therapy".

Coming to a therapist is an enlightening experience, it can make a once chaotic and out of control life become peaceful and have meaning. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy as my main methods for therapy; however, I draw from other therapy types to give my clients the best therapeutic experience. I love working with children, adolescents and adults. My experience lies in behavior management, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life changes, adjustment issues and addiction issues as it related to the addict and to the family. I see a lot children from blended and divorced families.
