For over 17 years as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I have helped children, teens, adults and families with their struggles. Most of my work is generated through client referrals. I believe a safe, comfortable environment, helps make the work toward change less difficult and helps individuals move through the therapy process at their own pace. Because we are all unique, my therapy style is Eclectic, meaning, I use various techniques and approaches to meet the needs of each individual.

I love working with a mix of clients that range in presenting issues. I enjoy seeing parents that are navigating their child's queer or trans identity, adults exploring family of origin issues, or women struggle with self-esteem.

Emily Ellsworth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who specializes in depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationships, first-episode psychosis, and other psychotic symptoms. Emily has been committed to providing mental health services and life coaching to individuals ages 18+ for 9 years. She earned a dual degree in Psychology and Gender, Sexuality, and Feminism studies from Duke University where she fell in love with the idea of holistic treatment. She then earned her Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago to gain further knowledge about treating an individual from an internal and external perspective.

Together we will focus on reaching new understandings in your life to support your goals, well-being and agency. We will explore your personal and environmental challenges, while discovering helpful meanings and solutions thru our conversations - often casual and comfortable in style. We will process the root of your anxiety, unhappiness and/or discontent, while taking a fresh look at your needs and coping style - working to empower your strengths. I am open for new clients, both long and short-term, and have Tuesday-Saturday availability. I believe that therapy is a journey in which the client and therapist are both guide and companion, with the client choosing their path and the therapist providing support and knowledge to better achieve the clients’ goals and needs. I have been working with individuals and families for over 12 years.. I have a particular focus in working with teens at risk, in particular teens who self-harm. Since I have additional certifications in family therapy, sex therapy, and divorce mediation, I am also very comfortable working with couples and families in conflict. I have worked extensively with individuals in all decades. I have been trained extensively in Bowenian family therapy, although my approach is flexible. I am becoming trained to be a certified independent college counselor.

With over 15 years of experience working with children and their families I bring a wealth of knowledge and resources to my work. My experience includes helping children improve communication and problem solving skills, cope with anxiety, and building confidence in relationships. The family work focus's on parenting and communication skills and strengthening relationships. In addition to individual and family therapy I have expertise in social skills groups for children 3-11 years old. I help children with no formal diagnosis who experience social and behavioral challenges as well as children with Asperger's, learning disabilities, ADHD, and Anxiety.
