As a therapist, I am a firm believer that changing your perspective changes your experience. My goal is to help clients recognize that thoughts impact emotions, which directly influence behavior. Thriving Thoughts Therapy's main focus is on creating a safe space for you to grow, challenge current thought processes, implement coping skills/self care, and walk away with a renewed state of mind. This is achieved through an eclectic approach, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, the practice of mindfulness, and career counseling.

I have worked with individuals, couples and families dealing with relationship issues, family conflicts, grief and loss, blended family issues, divorce and reconciliation, work related stress, trauma, and mood disorders. I use various exercises and techniques to connect with my clients and make them feel comfortable within the therapeutic process. I am particularly skilled in engaging my clients during the initial contact and sessions because I believe that the foundation of any successful therapeutic process develops from the beginning stages.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) serving children, adolescents, individuals, couples, college/graduate students, and LGBTQ clients. I have specialized in providing services to adolescents and their families for more than 25 years. I am licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia. I have been practicing as a Mental Health Clinician for 14 years providing services in group homes, communities, educational, and private practice settings. At Peace of Mind Therapy, LLC, we offer services by other Licensed Professional Counselors or Licensed Social Workers that are Qualified, Capable, & Culturally Competent.

My goal as a therapist is to inspire hope and change by providing a safe, supportive and nonjudgmental environment to build a therapeutic relationship that allows for courageous “self-study”. With understanding self comes clarity, and relief, which in turn creates the opportunity to cultivate new healthy ways to think, feel, and react. By working collaboratively, you will uncover, understand, and overcome challenges including loneliness, guilt, shame, fear, grief, and self-doubt.
