I have been in private practice for over three decades. My approach is eclectic, engaging, and respectful. Humor has it's place in the journey of therapy! Dr. Packard is a Modern Psychoanalyst and Licensed Mental Health Clinician. He has demonstrated an unique ability to integrate various forms of therapy into one unified approach; a blend of cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapy for problems of everyday life. Why use Integrative Psychotherapy? Most clinicians know that no one single theory or therapy works for all clients, all problems or situations. However, the vast majority of therapists strongly adhere to one particular approach which is fine if their approach matches the client they are seeing, the problem they are treating, where the client is in treatment, and so forth.

I enjoy working with clients who have experienced a significant life change. They may be experiencing mental, emotional and physical symptoms of depression, anxiety or illness. As a grief therapist and clinical social worker, I use a holistic and integrative psychotherapy model that includes: Grief Therapy, EMDR, Emotional Freedom Technique, Narrative Therapy, Guided Imagery, Dream Work and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts. I have a background in the sciences (medical research), and changed careers 5 years ago, to help people on a more personal level. I use my knowledge of physical health to help people who struggle with chronic illness, and/or pain. I also have experience working with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, panic, social anxiety, and trauma.

I find inspiration in Humanistic and Transpersonal theories, and integrate various evidenced-based modalities, providing an eclectic, individualized treatment. My nearly decade-long practice in pastoral counseling, ongoing apprenticeships in Dreamshadow Transpersonal Breathwork and the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and training assimilating religiospiritual practices into therapy allows me to offer a therapeutic approach appreciative of wisdom traditions around the world.

As a therapist of over 30 years' training and experience in helping people with many kinds of life problems, I have worked on Cape Cod over 20 years. A few years ago I closed my private practice, planning to retire, but the pandemic and subsequent mental health crisis has compelled me to return to my original vocation, this time through "telehealth" appointments -- counseling over the internet via a secure platform. For those who don't use the internet easily, I will also help by telephone. In Massachusetts, your teletherapy is covered by your health insurance in the same way it would be covered for in-person sessions.
