It's not work when you love it and I am fortunate to have worked in and loved the mental health and behavioral health fields for over 25 years. I have provided therapy to women in abusive relationships, homeless populations, LGBTQIA individuals, individuals struggling with substance use disorders, and individuals suffering from chronic medical illness. I have also worked in residential treatment with children and adolescents and in outpatient with children, adolescents, couples, and families. I currently prefer those ages 12 to adult in my practice. I see clients via teletherapy who live in Alaska, Arizona, Texas, and Oregon.
My style is quite eclectic. I combine traditional talk therapy with experiential techniques and humor. I believe in human to human interaction: an empathic and non-judgmental approach to therapy. I also provide EMDR therapy and hypnotherapy. My specialty areas: trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, LGBT population challenges, DV, and substance abuse.
I am a therapist, trained life coach, co-parent facilitator, and mediator who specializes in working with relationship and family issues. I have also been an assistant professor of psychology. I believe that teaching has made me a better therapist and being a therapist made me a better teacher. I hope to meet with and work with you someday soon!
