Among the greates influences upon our lives are the relationships we have with our spouses, partners and families. It is not unusual for us to experience problems within these relationships as we move through our lives. There are a number of reasons and circumstances which can give rise to marital, couple and family problems. Some of these are: communication problems, changes within the family, individual problems, adolescent problems, marital discord, parental discord, mental health issues, stepfamily relationships and a specific stage in family life.
Therapists are practitioners of change. As a family, couple and individual therapist it is my role to assist my clients in facilitating changes which relieve the problems they are experiencing and thus enhance their lives. The following treatment services are utilized in order to accomplish this: family therapy, couple therapy, individual therapy and parenting consultation.
Mr. Rosenbaum is on the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Social Work where he teaches courses in Family Therapy and Couples Therapy.
