As a pediatric neuropsychologist, I am trained to evaluate your child's cognitive, adaptive, and behavioral functioning. I have a broad range of experience and have worked with children and adolescents with a variety of medical, developmental, and behavioral/emotional diagnoses. My areas of expertise include assessment (i.e., neuropsychological, developmental, behavioral, concussion evaluations), therapy (i.e., improve adaptive, study, and social skills and decrease behavioral concerns), and parent training and support.
Neuropsychological testing involves the evaluation of a broad range of skills, which typically include intelligence, memory, language, visual-spatial skills, processing speed, fine motor functioning, attention, executive skills (i.e., planning, organizing, initiation), and academic functioning. Neuropsychological evaluations can be helpful to identify areas of strength and weakness.
Cognitive remediation is a form of rehabilitation therapy used to treat children and adolescents with a history of neurodevelopmental difficulties. The general goal is to provide your child with the skills necessary to allow him or her to be as functionally independent as possible.
