Having been trained in a humanistic/holistic model of therapy (Experiential, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Family Systems), I have adhered to what is now called an “integrative” approach to mental health issues. Specifically, when I engage with a client we focus on the interaction of all the dimensions of his or her life, i.e., biological, psychological, social, behavioral, and spiritual. Subsequently, we embark on an exciting journey together to explore a path that leads to a more optimal state of well-being and a greater sense of wholeness.
I work with all ages, and “constellations” across the life span, all ethnicities, races, and sexual orientations. I am particularly interested in women’s personal and professional empowerment, and in challenges to both genders associated within life cycle transitions which, if not resolved, often lead to depression, anxiety, and other consequences.
Relationship issues, sexual abuse and associated trauma, gay and lesbian concerns, and grief and loss continue to be major areas of focus. My ultimate goal is to help people lead a more satisfying, conscious, and authentic existence.
