With compassion and understanding, I work to create a safe and trusting environment for individuals to share their inner most thoughts/feelings. I try to meet each individual where they are in life, to listen with depth/patience/understanding as to be able to offer my warm, thoughtful insights. My therapeutic approach considers your current circumstance, past history, feelings and motivations, dreams and disappointments. By looking at you as a whole person, I can help you develop self understanding/acceptance so that you can be more open of your strengths, accepting of your limitations, capable of a living a fuller life.
I work with individuals who have a history of guilt/shame, childhood attachment issues/parental neglect. I work to assist in developing a more integrated sense of self, less splitting of good/bad parts, which also includes: a greater capacity to regulate emotions, a deeper sense of empathy for self/others and greater desire/capacity for closeness, intimacy
I also work with individuals dealing with compulsive sex and/or pornography use. Together we work to understand the desires/needs/wants/fantasies that are met and not met of the behaviors. We then work towards developing a greater capacity for mutual dependency/closeness, a deeper ability to reflect on emotions and not put them into actions in the moment.
