As your therapist, I will not be able to solve your problems for you. Actually, I would not want to even if I could. I do not presume that I have answers to your problems, or that my way is the best or only way. I fully believe that you have the answers you need within you, we just need to uncover them. I will walk with you for as long as you want and need.
My practice is based on a cognitive-behavioral approach, meaning I believe that our thoughts, emotions, and actions impact one another directly. I will work with you to develop healthy coping skills, a support system, and healthy thought processes. I will challenge thoughts that are harmful to you and your well-being with respect, wit, and laughter.
Due to my training in Play Therapy, I see children as young as 2.5 years. Due to my community presentations in adolescent growth and development, I see adolescents between the ages of 12 and 25 (the brain is not fully developed until around the age of 25 years!). Due to my experience working with parents, I provide parenting support and couples' counseling. Due to my EMDR training (level II certified), I also treat people of all ages with traumatic experiences. Last, but most important, I treat people.
