My counseling style has been described as caring, compassionate and effective. I have found that most clients want to be heard and accepted as they deal with personal life issues. I believe all counseling is teaching the client or couple new and better ways of enjoying their life. My wife, Linda and I have been married 54 years and have two adult children and five adult grandchildren. I was a former teacher, school counselor and athletic coach.
Having been in practice 33 years, I use a Cognitive Behavioral approach focusing on helping the clients change irrational thinking, negative feelings, and encouraging them to develop empowering behaviors. I work to give each client hope in their life. My goal is to encourage the client to strive to become a fully functioning and happy individual.
I accept each client for who they are and the experiences of their life. Using a positive regard approach, I encourage them to value themselves as a whole individual leading to a healthier life.
