Life can be difficult... Stress from work, relationships, and other life experiences may leave a person feeling alone or lacking support. This stress often has adverse and unwanted effects on overall well-being and is important to address. The counseling relationship provides an opportunity to be supported in a safe environment with a counselor who is open, responsive, and accepting of you and your lived experiences. Counseling can be seen as a relational tool in working towards the life you've been wanting for yourself, whether it looks like managing mental health symptoms or realizing your goals.
Counselors vary greatly as we are primarily human, which means finding a counselor who "fits" is important. As a human and a counselor, I offer counseling support for a variety of unwanted symptoms (depression, anxiety, etc.) utilizing an idea called "choice theory." This orientation is aimed towards empowerment at the personal and relational level.
You are living life in this very moment, as am I. With the crossing of our paths, we have an opportunity to work together as a team in supporting you and your "self." I welcome your interest and admire your motivation to take action in seeking mental health support. I look forward to working with you.

Adventure-Based Counseling Group
This group is an in-the-works adventure-based group (please express your interest in this group via email). It is an awesome opportunity to engage in new interpersonal interactions in a vulnerable and engaging manner. Through the use of adventure-based interventions, members are able to participate with one another in parallel processes and meaning making activities in the beautiful and exposing natural world. Members are challenged in confronting and overcoming inter- and intra-personal difficulties with the support of the hosting counselor. This group is not appropriate for individuals with active acute mental health needs.
