Duncan has experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds who are healing from depression, PTSD, anxiety, trauma, life-adjustment issues, interpersonal difficulties, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and other mental health issues. Duncan also has profound experience specifically working with veterans and individuals who are struggling with substance use issues. He also has specialized licensing in providing chemical dependency therapy.
He typically uses a cognitive behavioral therapy approach that is integrated with solution-focused based strategies which are consistent with his training in social work. He also is trained in EMDR therapy to assist individuals who are in need of healing from trauma, abuse, or other emotional wounds.
Duncan realizes that effective therapy can only begin once an empathic, non-judgmental, and supportive relationship has been developed between himself and his clients.
