While I will not go into details about this, that part of my life; the stress, anxiety, and depression led me to have a strong desire to not only understand the principles behind mental health but help others in dealing with their issues thus allowing them a bit of solace, easing that burden. Counselors, social workers, and psychologists are all people too, we usually are not perfect people trying to lead you down the perfect path. Every client's issue, needs, and goals will always be different depending on where they are in their journey of trauma and healing. I find being authentic and unapologetic in my delivery tends to allow the client to revisit, readjust and release the things they have found to hold them stagnate in their healing. What I have also uncovered about a client is their "want" and "why" does not always coincide with each other. What they may want may not be why they want it. Realistically, the result is always to find what they lost some time ago.
