I have 12 years of experience in working with individuals with substance use disorder covering a wide range of concerns such as addiction, alcoholism, depression, anxiety and dual diagnosis issues. I have also worked with patients whom have struggled with trauma and abuse of all forms. These issues can be seriously debilitating and it is important to be proactive in developing individualized treatment plans.

Currently I'm the primary therapist for all female adult trauma unit, inpatient psy. hospital where we help people in crisis & to transition back home w/ healthy coping skills, strategies and support systems. I also work with Philadelphia school system in facilitating dance movement therapy session with children on the spectrum ages 7-9. In my private practice I continue to work in the area of verbal psychotherapy (individual, couples & group) and Dance/Movement therapy and CBT techniques. My work encompasses therapy with Individuals dealing with a large range of issues; including but not limited to, children with severe emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorders, physical disabilities, victims of abuse and neglect, families in crisis, adults with mental illness and dual diagnosis, couples in need of support to build healthy relationship. Lastly, I have served as a clinical supervisor/Co-Supervisors for interns in several schools such as Drexel University, PCOM (Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine) and Lasalle University, in which I love to teach, guide and inspire other professional to the field.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, my aim is to assist individuals struggling with mental health and/or addiction issues by helping them to explore, identify, and better understand factors underlying negative patterns in their lives. I encourage and support my clients in developing personal plans of action to begin to challenge and break free from those patterns.

In-person & In-network. Serenity specializes in mental health and substance use counseling for teens and young adults ages 14-28. We provide personalized intensive outpatient (IOP) and outpatient services with an emphasis on peer support and family involvement. At Serenity, we'll work together to identify what works best for you and provide a serene therapeutic space to connect, get support & make positive changes. Most clients begin in our IOP level of care before stepping down to outpatient. Services Include: Comprehensive Assessments, Individual, Group & Family Therapy, Medication Management, Parent Support, Life-Skills, & more.

I believe that therapy can result in meaningful and long lasting changes, as long as an individual is provided with a trusting, supportive, and non-judgmental environment that will allow one to identify, discuss, and resolve one's current difficulties or problems. My clients tell me that they find it very easy to talk to me about difficult and sensitive matters, and that they feel calm and comfortable in my presence.We will work together to identify stressors and/or relationships that are contributing to your symptoms, and develop coping strategies to help you manage these problems more effectively.

I have been working in the mental health field for the past 8 years and I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations in the field. I have a lot of experiencing working with youth and people who struggle with managing anxiety, depression, stress, family challenges, trauma, and substance use. I have had the opportunity to work with people in different settings like inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, community based treatment, schools , non-profit agencies, and occupational social work.

Change can be really, really hard. We can get so stuck in routines and behaviors that prove to be ineffective for us, yet it can be hard to recognize on our own. Therapy is useful in that it allows us to look inward while considering what change is necessary to have a more purposeful, satisfying life.
