Then with compassion and assertiveness help those change or continue their story. I have familiarity working with adults, individuals with chronic illnesses, first responders, teenagers with chronic illness, SPMI population, trauma, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, support during life transitions, chronic illnesses, individuals with dual diagnosis (not in active use), relationship upset, emotional dysregulation and stress management.

I am a LPCC with experience with Substance Use Disorder . I accept Mental Health only clients as well as those with Dual Diagnosis. Most often I explore with my clients to find the destructive elements in their lives. Together we then form a practice that becomes constructive and effective for the desired changes.

As a therapist, I am strongly dedicated to breaking stigma and normalizing mental health treatment. I provide psychotherapy/counseling and clinical interventions for individuals, adults, adolescents children, families and groups. With more than 37 years of experience in providing assessment, and interventions for mental (behavioral) health and substance use related issues. I have also invested many years developing, applying, and perfecting psychotherapy techniques including but not limited to Existential Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, family systems Therapy.

I was called to be a counselor and to be able to assist people in helping themselves change the course of their lives. I work with people who are living with the challenges of anxiety, depression, addictions, couples counseling, family counseling, trauma, criminal justice involvement, and many other concerns. I help people restructure their thoughts which will ultimately lead to a change in emotions and behaviors.

We will work together to set goals for taking the next steps to feel better.

Counseling allows you the ability to explore yourself and your future goals in an objective atmosphere. At His Strength Christian Counseling, we will explore and break down the barriers to who you want to be. Some barriers may be environmental, while others may be mental health related such as depression, anxiety, past trauma, relationship issues, communication issues, substance use issues, grief, or focus issues. My style of counseling includes Cognitive Behavioral and Reality therapies with a Christian focus. Counseling is provided face to face and via Telehealth if applicable. By appointment only. I am unable to take walk-in's.

Individuals that are experiencing issues with alcohol and drug use can feel alone and vulnerable during the recovery process. I can provide support and guidance during these times. I have worked with individuals with substance use disorders, gambling disorders and other co-occurring disorders for over 20 years. Together we will work towards learning skills to manage triggers, navigating relationships and maintain sobriety during life’s trials and tribulations. I also have experience working with individuals who need to meet requirements for the court or probation.

I enjoy working with clients that are motivated for change. We address the need for action behind the intention for change. I have 30 years of experience in counseling adults and teenagers challenged with depression, anxiety, grief and loss. I am trained in Trauma therapy with a Certification in EMDR therapy. Recently, trained in EMDR 2.0. I work with individuals that struggle with past experiences that shape negative beliefs about themselves and through EMDR therapy they can shift to a positive belief about themselves to have a better quality of life.
