TaNesha has been providing therapeutic services for the Twin Cities area for children, adolescents and families for the last sixteen years. She has worked specifically with disenfranchised minority communities and has taken extensive multicultural training to support her work. As an African American female, TaNesha serves as both knowledgeable and an in-demand resource in that specific population. Using a holistic approach to therapy with a framework centered on reality(choice) based therapy, TaNesha looks at all aspects of a person’s life in order to help them identify areas of change.

My passion is working with individuals with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring substance use concerns along with an array of mental health disorders. I have a specific passion working with those who have experienced trauma or have been diagnosed/have concerns related to a personality disorder. I have worked with individuals with both substance and sexual addictions and find great passion in being able to work with individuals to help them implement changes and shape their lives towards a life worth enjoying.

For the past 22 years I have helped traumatized, depressed or anxious clients feel safe, heard, understood and empowered. Trauma can make people feel hopeless, numb, empty and like they have lost themselves. They often resort to coping that helps them avoid or escape their emotional pain but doesn’t help them to heal or effectively manage their symptoms but they don’t know any other way. There is another way. In my gentle, compassionate, non-judgmental approach I help clients feel unconditional acceptance, support understanding and safety.

I specialize in Psychological Testing with children, adolescents and adults to evaluate Cognitive, Adaptive, Behavior and Personality functioning. Requests for these evaluations are typically in response to concerns about daily functioning, inattentiveness, hyperactivity, academic difficulties, behavioral or emotional problems, developmental disabilities, diagnostic clarification for medication therapy and treatment planning or to document a need for support services at home, school or place of employment. These are often requested by therapists, physicians, school counselors, parents, psychiatrists, employers, judges, attorneys, case managers, other community providers as well as self referred. I am experienced in working with culturally diverse populations and language interpreters.

I strongly believe in taking a strengths-based, resilience approach, and in looking for the positive. I am an experienced, licensed mental health therapist, and a chemical dependency counselor. I work with individuals, couples, and families regarding a wide range of issues. I take an individualized, collaborative approach tailored to the needs of the client. Issue areas include: adjustment, grief and loss, relationships, parenting, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, Bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, addictions, and dual disorders. I believe in taking a Systems approach in working with couples and families. I find the work of Dr. John Gottman to be especially helpful in overcoming "gridlock."

Hello & welcome. Seeking therapy is a decision of courage and I’m so glad you are exploring this option. I provide therapy to residents of Minnesota, in person & via Telehealth. I love working with a variety of clients, including those struggling to adjust to major life changes, have experienced grief and loss, or are struggling with substance use issues and considering positive steps to improve their health and well-being. Therapy can be hard work, but when a client is motivated for change, I find it very inspiring and a privilege to work collaboratively with these individuals to reach the goals they have identified for themselves.

Intervention service- nationwide service area, all behavioral health issues, including substance abuse, gambling, internet/gaming, sex/love addiction. Helping families and businesses start the process of change. Recovery Case Management- modeled on the successful recovery models of airline employees and health care professionals. Early recovery can be daunting, and RCM helps to negotiate early recovery issues, ensure follow-through with continuing care, aids in family healing, and helps coordinate multiple providers.

Andrea began her career in the mental health field in 2012 and developed experience through supportive and financial roles for clinics specializing in trauma and eating disorders. She attended Adler Graduate School where she studied co-occurring disorders and completed her master’s degree in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy. She is dually trained to provide counseling for both substance use and mental health disorders. She provides personalized care, equipping clients with the courage and skills to meet their goals.

I work from a trauma aware, person centered, sex positive and harm reduction based perspective. I am queer identified and use she, her and hers pronouns.
