Along with how maladaptive coping, family discord, community violence, barriers to care, and other environmental and developmental stressors affect one’s physical and mental health.

I am an experienced, mental health therapist, with specialized skills in trauma informed, and addiction informed psychotherapy. My philosophy of therapy is both collaborative and holistic. I view therapy as a collaboration between my clients and myself. In addition to resolving the client’s specific concerns, I hope to empower my clients with the ability to enrich their overall quality of life. I strongly believe in taking a strengths-based, resilience approach, and highlighting the positives that exist in one’s life.

TaNesha has been providing therapeutic services for the Twin Cities area for children, adolescents and families for the last sixteen years. She has worked specifically with disenfranchised minority communities and has taken extensive multicultural training to support her work. As an African American female, TaNesha serves as both knowledgeable and an in-demand resource in that specific population. Using a holistic approach to therapy with a framework centered on reality(choice) based therapy, TaNesha looks at all aspects of a person’s life in order to help them identify areas of change.

How many therapists did your parents have you see as a kid? Has anybody in your life commented on your "adoption issues"? How many times a day do you ask yourself where and how do I fit in? Maybe the mindset you used to help yourself survive childhood is now hindering your growth in adulthood. Why aren't there more therapists who are adoptees? These are some of many questions and issues I hope that we can work on together. I aspire, because I am an adoptee, to have you spend less time explaining what adoption was, and more time working on current issues.

My approach to therapy is relational, attachment focused, systems based, and trauma informed as I believe how we experience the world is through an eclectic lens of our relational and developmental histories, genetic and biological make-up, experiences with others, and the communities in which we live. I believe that sometimes healing is best ignited through connection, support, and exploration. I practice primarily with adult individuals, families, and couples navigating the effects of stress, PTSD/trauma, identity exploration and self-esteem, life transitions, oppression, and dual-diagnosis.

I am passionate about meeting people right where they are emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Many clients who felt anxious about beginning therapy have expressed how quickly they felt comfortable with me. I consider it a great privilege to work with individuals and families during formative years of growth and transition. My goal is to provide a safe environment that is both supportive and challenging.

Hi! I am Timothy R. Foster, MA, LPC in WI & MN. My style of therapy is unique. It is designed to engage the full person and to integrate our past, present, and future experiences into a congruent and comprehensive image of our true selves. Life is difficult. It just is. Learning to accept our emotional experiences honestly and non-judgementally can be hard. But this is where I truly believe healing is created. I work well with clients who like to ask tough questions and are willing to be open with their experiences with me. I will provide a direct and compassionate approach. I have helped many people succeed with life transitions that were struggling to make changes on their own. It’s difficult to know what to do when you’re hurting while also navigating a change in relationship or job or moving. It can feel very isolating. In therapy you’re able to take the time for you to get the answers you’re looking for and the relief from the pain. Now (as of 1/1/2023) accepting new clients for virtual therapy. My specialty is helping people to get their painful emotions out of their way and on their side. If your feelings are getting in the way of your relationships, sobriety, career, or life, I'd like the chance to help. I especially enjoy working with people trying to stay sober, members of the queer community, people coping with the justice system, and people with disabilities or chronic pain. My clients often feel overlooked or misunderstood by other therapists, and really need someone to listen to them.

Open for New Clients. Clients seeking therapy can come as they are. It is my goal to have the education and tools to facilitate their process. I work with individual adults, couples, families, teens, and children in a variety of areas, including mental health therapy, substance use disorder, EMDR trauma therapy, hypnotherapy, quitting smoking, phobias, confidence, and equine-assisted therapy. I have been a life coach and hypnotist for 11 years, substance use disorder counselor for 5 years, and I am a pre-licensed mental health therapist under supervision.

Walking through life in an increasingly challenging world can leave us feeling out of touch with ourselves, bending to who we think we “should” be, and unsure of who we want to be. I work with clients to help them embrace their natural curiosity, explore the patterns/behaviors that feel incongruous with their values, challenge the negative self-talk that holds them back, and help them to engage more fully in the joy that life can hold. I aim to help my clients develop a deeper and more compassionate relationship with themselves, to have a more fulfilling relationships and live in authentic alignment with their core personal values.

Dr. Penticoff is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in individual, adolescent and family therapy. With over 25 years of experience providing therapy and community based services, Dr. Penticoff serves as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are adolescent struggles, depression, anxiety disorders in children, and family therapy. Dr. Penticoff is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and insight oriented feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges.
