I bring expertise in dual diagnosis treatment of multiple chemical abuse and dependence. I have provided mental health treatment of returning citizens from various states of incarceration who may require re-adjustment and re-integration into society.

Guiding Light Counseling Services utilizes evidence-based practices to ensure ethical practice allowing clients to experience emotional relief without additional trauma. Clients create personalized treatment goals, develop crisis safety plans, and effectively work towards their treatment goals at their own pace. As a team of mental health clinicians, we provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore and/or examine their personal thoughts and feelings utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

My Clinical Psychology private practice allows for maximum individual attention and confidentiality. Since 1988, I have specialized in treating trauma conditions resulting from war, auto, workplace, violence and residuals of childhood abuse. Related conditions include depression, anxiety, physical pain, relationship difficulties, addictions and cognitive disorders. As a result of auto and occupational injuries, many patients/clients suffer Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injuries; and they can greatly benefit from my individual and group psychotherapy. I am a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist so some of my work involves cases in litigation including evaluations, testimony and expert witness services.

Hello! My name is Laverne Santangelo and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan. I am also a certified Wholistic Life Coach and Yoga Teacher. I am a retired army veteran. I enjoyed serving my country and I now serve from the yoga mat and my therapy office! My experience and knowledge in the mental health field and helping professions is vast.
