Hi! My name is Drew and I am honored by the potential to walk by your side while navigating any mental health challenges or life issues that may arise. My own personal experiences with mental and behavioral health in childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood, in addition top being a local and seeing how unaddressed mental health challenges and addiction have impacted many of my friends and the community as a whole, is what acted as a catalyst for my entrance into and my passion for the field of mental health.

I am a licensed clinical social worker and have been in the field for approximately 20 years. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, and more recently persons with chronic mental illness such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder, and Bi-polar Disorder. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

I am a talented passionate and personable licensed clinical psychologist with a strong desire to help my clients live a meaningful value-filled life despite whatever struggles they may be facing! I view psychotherapy or counseling as a professional relationship between the therapist and client. As a client begins talking about their life, I, the therapist walks with you through your world. I will ask questions to further understand your world. Then ideas will be explored for life enhancement and positive change.

I received my undergraduate degree in Biology from Clearwater Christian College and I later received my Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. My own six year struggle with opioids and prescription medication addiction led him to want to inspire and help others face their mental health struggles and walk them through their recovery.

I’m a nontraditional therapist who works with people who don’t connect with typical shrinks. Most of my sessions take place outdoors. A large portion of my approach involves Behavioral Activation which starts by getting moving again, and provides a “reset” in reconnecting with physical wellness- working toward mental toughness and resiliency. I utilize physical activity interventions, starting at whatever level you feel comfortable and building from there. Simply walking & talking has worked for millennia to help people overcome depression, anxiety, trauma, etc. We may do office therapy, but doing it this way usually works better!

Battling with low self-esteem, anxiety and depression is exhausting. Navigating new relationships and careers can be hard, however I see the changes young adults make towards feeling more confident and in control of their lives!
