My role is to be here to support you and know it is not easy to ask for help from a stranger. I strive to make counseling a safe space to express yourself as you are and share your challenges as well as goals! My approach is grounded in meeting you where you are at and believe humor, compassion, as well as listening go a long way. I also understand we all have multiple parts of our identities and roles to navigate so I will take a holistic view to navigating the challenges you are facing. Sandstone Care provides substance use, addiction, and mental health treatment for young adults (ages 18 to 30) and adolescents (ages 13 to 18) including Residential Treatment, Day Treatment (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and General Outpatient (OP) programming.

I have extensive experience helping people attain sobriety and address the underlying issues that are often associated with substance use disorder. I have been providing therapy services and supervised other therapists for over 19 years. I love sitting with people and doing the work it takes to have a good life.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process based on trust and authenticity. I work from a trauma-informed, person-centered foundation, rooted in the belief that every human being has an inherent capacity to reach their full potential. I focus on helping children, adolescents, and adults move forward. Problems that can get in the way of moving forward include education and behavior problems, ADD, autism, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Clinical tools include intellectual and psychological assessment and treatment interventions using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), person centered therapy, or emotion focused therapy, which can guide you through to the goals you have set. We'll set these goals early in the session so that we can focus on achieving these goals.

I understand that life brings unexpected transitions. My experience working in several inpatient hospitals has provided experience that helped me develop and hone effective counseling techniques and become familiar with counseling people of all walks of life.
