As a solution-focused therapist utilizing cognitive, play, and dialectical behavior therapy, I am here to help you work and sort through how you’re feeling, make the necessary steps to repair relationships and feel more centered.

As a trauma-focused therapist and healer I work from a holistic approach to integrate mind, body and spirit with my clients. I believe that we are all living out of our perspective of our story and with each new day comes the opportunity to understand and develop that story more. I deeply understand the need for attachment with ourselves and others, so I consider it an honor to walk alongside my clients and help them gain insight into their stories. I work with adults, children, teens and couples to help them with a variety of issues based on trust and connection.

I have a passion for working with children, adolescents and families. Addiction issues, loss and trauma are also areas that I enjoy working with. I have worked with all ages and cultures and love seeing people overcome their obstacles and move forward in their lives; feeling lighter, happier and able to achieve their dreams and goals. I know people are capable of achieving happiness and connections in their lives with additional supports and can become who they want to become with support and direction.

I know first hand how hard it can be to reach out for help, when the world tells us the goal is to "have it all together." Therapy can be uncomfortable and difficult, but that is how change happens. I like to make the process of change less challenging for people by making therapy about making a connection with someone, and providing a safe, supportive environment. Healing is a chance to look at the story we are living in and rewrite the parts that don't fit anymore. Our lives are busy and chaotic and somewhere in all of that, we need to find time to build better versions of ourselves and healthy relationships with others.

Alexis is a graduate with honors from East Tennessee University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Sciences and a minor in Communicative Disorders. Alexis furthered her education at Emory and Henry College of Health Science in Marion, VA where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA and her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies. She is a recipient of Phi Alpha National Honor Society and Alpha Eta Honor Society. As a NCCPA certified physician assistant, Alexis is looking forward to caring for her patient’s behavioral health needs from pediatrics to geriatrics.

At Oasis Psychological services, I conduct psychological evaluations for individuals ages 8-65, psychosexual evaluations for juveniles and adults with sexual behavior problems, and assessments for juveniles with delinquency and/or substance abuse issues. I also conduct disability evaluations. Oasis Psychological Services offers therapy for a wide range of mental health problems as well as specialized services for juveniles with sexual behavior problems.
