I enjoy working with adult individuals and building a safe therapeutic environment for them to explore their strengths, barriers, and potential. I assist individuals to enhance their self-esteem, self-worth, and also validate their experiences. A common practice that I utilize is guiding individuals to identify, restructure, and replace unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors with healthy empowering ones. In addition, I work with individuals on building and positively engaging with a support network, which is crucial in the recovery process.

I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been practicing since 2004. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Michigan with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and hold a Master's Degree in Social Work from Boston College with a clinical concentration in Children, Youth and Families. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and families, working in both office based and home based settings. My specialization is adolescent behavior problems, depression and anxiety in adolescents and adults, and family therapy.

It takes a great deal of courage to ask for help. Appreciating and respecting that courage, my work is to help my clients attain their goals, discarding whatever has prevented them from doing so in the past. I consider therapy a collaborative effort between the individual and therapist. My hope is that the clients with whom I work feel supported and empowered to make the changes they desire.

I am a Masters level Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over 30 years of experience in the assessment, treatment, and prevention of addictions and co-occurring disorders. I specialize in the treatment of opiate dependence, and work closely with medical providers in that specialty. I also have extensive experience with DWI aftercare services, as well as court-mandated counseling. I am available to provide substance use evaluations for courts, schools, attorneys, and families.

Addiction doesn't happen by choice, it develops over time and is impacted by multiple internal and external factors. Our approach recognizes that each individual's unique situation and the factors that impact their use of drugs and alcohol can be understood in order to determine together what combination of therapy and resources fits best, rather than prescribing the same thing to everyone seeking help.There are multiple effective therapies and resources available for people who use alcohol and drugs.

I am committed to working with diverse individuals (LGBTQ+), ages 14 and older, tailoring varied therapeutic methods as needed to best support them in creating meaningful change in their lives. I also work with couples; providing space and support to deepen their connection, further their communication skills and enable them to move more successfully through conflict. Additionally, I provide court ordered substance use treatment and evaluations.

"Liminality" refers to the middle stage of change, the threshhold between what was, and what is yet to be. It is when, and where, we are forced by circumstance or choice to leave behind what is familiar, and to journey into a place of uncertainty. It is a normal part of being human. I named my practice Liminal Therapy to honor the process of change and human resilience. My clients are adults (18+) and include people with ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, addictions, and issues related to the stressors of life stages and transitions. Diversity and multicultural wisdom traditions are welcome and appreciated.

TELETHERAPY is here! We offer hope, education and treatment to people in all phases of decision making around substance use or other problematic behaviors. Education on reducing anxiety, stress and building confidence and harmony. Services include: substance abuse/recovery groups & Individual sessions to adults & teens; 36-week Domestic Violence court approved program; Anger Management Program (heavily based in mindfulness/Buddhist concepts of letting go and Acceptance Commitment Therapy). We also provide court ordered anger mngmnt, domestic violence and substance use disorder evaluations. We are an IDSP Provider for DWI aftercare.
