I specialize in working with adults and teens who are seeking help with trauma, attachment wounds, relationship issues, anxiety, life transitions, grief, depression, and/or addiction. I also work with couples who may be experiencing challenges with communication, mutual understanding, connection, and strengthening their bond.

We all have the ability within ourselves to make changes and to live our best lives, yet often times we can get in our own way of that progress. Difficulties in our lives are often linked to problems in our relationships with people close to us. Therapy can help us examine our behavior and create ways so that we can remove the roadblocks keeping us from improving upon our relationships. I use many dynamic forms of treatment in order to help you reach these goals. I base my practice in the belief that therapy in itself is relationship-based.

Life is often scary and filled with unpredictable pain. My job is to be present with you as we work through those difficult experiences together. Hello! I am Kelly, a mental health therapist. My specialty is working with ADHD in adolescents and adults, as well as recently diagnosed adults. ADHD can have a crippling effect upon self esteem and general life functioning. I think ADHD is a gift and can allow us to operate and think in ways that can be very insightful. I have spent the last 4 years working in middle school, high schools and working with high level engineers and executives from major Seattle based companies with ADHD symptoms. ADHD comes in many packages, please allow me to assist in helping you to create a positive platform to launch from.

When life starts to feel overwhelming, fatiguing, and chaotic, reaching out for help can be especially difficult. Then as the challenges and issues of life become impossible, we start to lose hope. The truth is, we all have the ability to live a more abundant life, no matter how difficult our circumstances may be. Things like addictions, trauma, anxiety, depression, and difficult relationships can all be barriers to abundance. While these barriers may seem overwhelming, they don’t have to define you or prevent you from healing, growth, and a life that is full. When you can’t get past these barriers on our own, it’s okay to get help.

No matter the reason a person seeks counseling, a listening ear and safe place to share can foster healing and allow progress toward wholeness. As your counselor, I hope to provide a space for you, free of judgement, where we address your concerns and help you work toward a fulfilled and free life. I work with a variety of different issues, including anxiety, depression, relationships, low self-esteem, grief, family systems, anger management and parenting concerns. I see women, men, adolescents, couples and families. My experience and education has given me knowledge on diverse approaches and orientations to use in counseling.

My therapeutic approach is holistic, client-centered, and solution-focused. Everyone is unique, and once I get to know you, I’ll use the therapeutic tools and methods that I determine will be most beneficial to you. I like to draw from solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy, all of which offer ways of viewing problems from different perspectives and the opportunity for empowered participation in the unfolding of new realities. With compassion and understanding, I seek to work collaboratively with each client to encourage investigation and productive problem solving.

My focus as your therapist is to listen deeply, and remind you of your strengths and inner wisdom. I can assist you with creating strategies, skill building to move through the challenges you are experiencing, to improve relationships, improve communication skills, challenge negative thinking patterns. I provide a safe place to talk about what is troubling you.
