I assist clients who struggle with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression and want to bring about change in their lives. I help clients who want to find a balance and stability within themselves to learn and reconnect to a more desired life.

It is our personal journey through life that shapes who we have become today. Working with individuals in a safe and therapeutic environment, we approach the root cause of present concerns. This becomes an essential step in the healing process. Understanding more about ourselves allows us to find meaning in our perceptions of the world in which we live. Today I actively counsel individuals of all ages, helping them identify and become the best versions of themselves.

At my practice, we treat a wide variety of patients. For some, it is his or her first time at therapy and there may be some trepidation about starting the process. For others, we have been one of many therapists in his or her life. Each patient brings a unique and fascinating set of thoughts, feelings and behaviors all of which require a specific method of treatment. It is wonderful work! We hope that everyone can have the chance to explore psychotherapy in his or her life, be it for a single session or many more.

I work with you to help break through the shells that are impacting your life by assisting you in securing new roots and growing in strength and stability. I am a proud alumni of Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA) and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling in 2015. Since this time, I have practiced psychotherapy in an outpatient setting in Southeastern Ohio. My primary focus as a therapist is to be an open, empathic, and non-judgmental source of support while using my clinical expertise to walk beside patients through the therapeutic journey.

I am passionate about trauma, depression, anxiety, LGBQT concerns, personality disorders, and neurodivergence. An ideal client is an individual who has a growth mindset and explores their thoughts and feelings and how they impact their behavior. They may not understand how those thoughts derived from past experiences, but they are willing to open old wounds given the right tools. They feel safe and secure and want to heal through hard work and determination.

Kristy Fries Colcleasure has a passion for helping clients navigate the waters into lasting sobriety. With a background as a substance abuse and mental health professional, Kristy has maintained a focus on connecting with clients and motivating them to develop healthy coping mechanisms by leveraging in-depth knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, social trends and influences, around a variety of ethnicities and cultures.   Educated at the University of Cincinnati and Purdue University Global, she achieved a BS in Human Services and is pursuing her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

We can talk about faith directly or simply let Christian values guide our sessions. We all struggle with life at some point and reaching out for help can be overwhelming so know I understand this and want to help.

I enjoy working with people who struggle with depression and/or anxiety. Ideally, their goals would be to improve their overall functioning and quality of life. My ideal client would be able to put in the necessary work to accomplish their goals. My therapy style is authentic, empathetic, and validating. If there is a need for me to work harder than the person coming for the therapy session, then maybe they just might not yet be ready to address some of the deeper-rooted issues that led them to step out and ask for help. I know I try to remain more attuned and aware that the readiness to change is key to the success of therapy for a client. I want to work in tandem with the person to reach the goals they have set for themselves.

Limiting NEW clients to those seeking group counseling. Those seeking Eating Disorder Group treatment can be seen individually; if only interested in individuals, I can put you on my waiting list. Mental Health Support and Wellness group is open; I'm unable to take on individuals seeking individual general mental health counseling. Therapy is an opportunity for you to have support in taking a look at your life and yourself to make a change. Taking a new approach to face your challenges requires courage. I believe that allowing yourself to connect with others, such as in a group, can be an invaluable part of the healing process.

Founded in 2008 Second Chance Counseling Centers mission is to provide an opportunity for individuals to break the cycle of addiction and adjust to new positive lifestyle changes. We strive to transform lives, while giving hope and healing to those affected by alcohol or drug addiction. We value honesty, accountability and transparency in our programs, and we believe the client must be our primary focus. Often our clients may not want to attend treatment but they stay because their lives start to improve as their self-esteem, self-worth and confidence returns.
