My approach to providing therapy is collaborative and based on the client's existing strengths. I believe in the client's inherent ability to find his/her own solutions to life's challenges, and see my role as a guide in helping to unearth those solutions. I have a warm and open demeanor, which helps to put clients at ease. My style in practicing therapy is active and vocal. With compassion and respect, I will always offer my perspective on any given problem a client may face.
I help clients examine their internal and interpersonal lives, and develop new approaches for handling personal issues more effectively. I assist clients in recognizing and addressing problems that are changeable, and in improving coping mechanisms for problems that are perpetual. I always take relational, environmental and cultural factors into consideration when treating clients.
I specialize in couples and family therapy, adolescents, and adults. I am adept at helping couples manage conflict, improve intimacy, and recover from affairs. I have years of experience working with adolescents, and understand issues specific to adolescent development. I have extensive experience with anxiety disorders, depression, and in life-transitions. I am LGBT friendly.
