As a Highly Sensitive Person myself, I understand how important it is to have a therapist who "gets it." I've been honored to help many HSPs (and more than a few non-HSPs!) better understand themselves, navigate their relationships, and fine-tune their lifestyle, home, work, and self-care so that they are able to thrive in a culture that can be harsh and overwhelming. My approach is holistic and gentle, yet I also give direct feedback about the recurring patterns I see that may be seeking healing and change. I love working with both individuals and couples who are ready to do deep work and seek greater wholeness and joy.
Spending 20+ years as a professional pianist introduced me to the art of deep listening. I went back to graduate school for Religion, Psychology, & Culture (am probably best described as a progressive, inclusive, ecumenical Christian) and became passionate about helping people experience healing of relationships, body, mind, soul, and community.
My practice is located in a house shared with several other therapists in the Wedgewood-Houston area of Nashville, just off 8th Ave., close to Belmont and I-65. I meet with clients in person in a beautiful, calming office. Artists of all kinds, HSPs, and other neurodiverse people are especially welcome.

Intro to HSP Group -- November 2, 9, 16, & 23
HSPs (Highly Sensitive Persons) are 15-20% of the population who feel keenly, process deeply, pick up on subtleties, and often have a heightened level of awareness and empathy beyond what is culturally considered "normal." In this 4-week Intro to HSP Group, Dr. Laura will begin each session with a brief talk on an aspect of Highly Sensitive Personality, then the rest will be open for group discussion. Bring your questions and curiosity, as well as any struggles you are experiencing and would like to talk through in a supportive, confidential setting. Please email if interested in joining.
