Earning graduate degrees from Columbia and Yale Universities, I am a clinical psychologist who is trained in psychoanalytic, dialectical behavioral (DBT) and humanistic treatment modalities. As Director of the Kimberly Center, my staff and I work with adults and adolescents with a variety of difficulties, including problems related to anxiety; mood, such as depression and poor self-esteem; interpersonal conflicts; career transitions; issues of professional identity; feelings of ineffectiveness and failures of performance in work and school; marital conflicts; and, difficulties with intimacy in romantic relationships.
I have specialized training in treating personality disorders, specifically BPD, but also helping those with difficulties in romantic relationships, chronic interpersonal difficulties, self-harming behavior, suicidal ideation, those suffering from mood disorders, such as chronic depression, and issues affecting those who have experienced complex trauma.
Having worked at NYU/Bellevue Hospital, St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, and Columbia University Medical Center, I and my staff are particularly adept at helping those struggling with even the most intense of life difficulties to find a measure of meaning, satisfaction, and success. New York Magazine has recently named me a "Best in New York" Doctor for 2024.
