I help people, especially entrepreneurs, have better relationships, resolve painful memories holding you back (I'm certified and train in EMDR), embrace who they are, and decrease anxiety. I adjust my approach to fit your needs and preferences. I have advanced training in relationships, trauma, addiction, immigration evaluations, and mindfulness (I write about them on Psychology Today). You can usually expect change in 2-8 sessions. As a psychology doctor and professor, I’m updated on the latest therapy research, and am dedicated, caring, and collaborative. You should feel understood, hopeful, and safe in your confidential therapy.

I also use emotionally focused couple therapy (EFT) to promote connection and safety with those that matter most to you. I may integrate mindfulness as well to help you live more in the present and relate more skillfully to your emotions and thoughts so you make better choices. I also publish in professional journals and magazines and present at conferences.

Emotional wounds are like broken bones, but very treatable. EMDR can work quickly, sometimes at a seemingly "impossible" pace. I work with a range of diverse clients. I lived in Mexico 4 years, have a degree in Spanish (speaking natively). I strive for great client-service and it's important to find the right therapist for you. I look forward to helping you.
