Tema Therapy is a Center created 15 years ago to serve the various needs of people and families who consider being multi-cultural or multi-lingual as a part of their identity. The founder of this facility, Dr. Irina Volynsky, had multiple experiences of being asked to evaluate or work in therapy with children and adults whose native language was not English, who were misdiagnosed, and who were not receiving appropriate help. Upon further consideration, the barrier presented was not only about the language but also about the different cultural context in which norm and pathology were understood differently.
I have over 20 years of experience working in eclectic mode of treatment. This means that I will not try to mold your problems and your personality so that it fits with my treatment approach; I will pick an approach that works best for you.
I work with adults and families; I have extensive experience in doing parent-child developmental consultations (at-home consults for toddlers), psychological, and neuro-psychological testing. This type of testing your child's teachers may request, when they feel that something is "off" in your child's performance, but cannot get to the root of the problem.

Parenting: as a psychologist any question
Groups will focus on: The teenage perspective on "Why you ruin my life?"; Children and their devices-what to do about them?; How you can learn to listen in such a way that will make them more compliant ; How to become more effective in communicating your needs and rules to your kids; Problem solving and gaining confidence in your relationship with your kids; Finding peace of mind "Did I scar them for life?" I'm sure you didn't but that is a good question to have at the back of your mind (Will my child repeat my mistakes?)
