Whether you are new to therapy or returning, my goal is to provide a safe space and a balanced therapeutic alliance that will promote healing and personal growth. I believe you are the expert on you, and will support you as you work towards your goals. I view the therapeutic process as a person-centered collaboration in which clients gain new insights, build inner strength, and create desired life changes.
Emily and the team at Kennebec Counseling offer clinical expertise in veteran and military mental health, at risk youth and their families, substance use treatment, treating co-occurring disorders, trauma-based treatment and outpatient mental health counseling.
Sometimes it helps to talk with someone outside your circle. I offer a non-judgmental, engaging approach to support you with navigating your journey. I am accepting new clients and offer convenient scheduling in the evenings and on the weekends. If you are considering counseling, please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your treatment needs.

I work with clients who may be struggling with a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD and substance use. During our initial sessions, we will collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
