Dr. Emily Althaus
Psychologist, PsyD
Location
As a licensed clinical psychologist I work with individuals and couples to create an individualized plan leading to self-discovery, fulfillment and greater authenticity. I work to create a safe relationship for clients to explore difficult aspects of their lives and to gain insight into recurring, self-defeating patterns. My practice focuses on helping each client to discover and build upon their innate strengths and ability to make positive changes.
Integrating a relational, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approach, I address each client's individual needs. I also weave Mindfulness throughout my work with clients to achieve mental and emotional healing. I work collaboratively with my clients to establish goals for the course of our work together.
As a warm, authentic, and active therapist, I am able to easily connect with clients and provide a safe, yet challenging therapy environment. I believe that mental health comes from all aspects of a person's well-being including, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
