Are you or your child experiencing chronic stress and anxiety due to work, school, or family issues? Common symptoms include moodiness, irritability, agitation, depression, racing or worried thoughts, attentional difficulties, panic attacks, sleep disturbances, social withdrawal, weight gain or loss, physical symptoms such as headaches, stomach aches, or back pain, abuse of alcohol or marijuana, or other addictive or acting out behaviors. With over 20 years experience, I help children, adults, and couples more effectively manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.

I am a practitioner of mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy proven effective by neuroscience. With over 25 specialities, I work with clients to manage stress-induced mood disorders, addictions, and self harm behaviors. I have a special interest in trauma recovery and provide critical incident stress debriefings in the Bay Area.

My clinical experience is at the U.S. Naval Medical Center's Department of Internal Medicine, Wells Fargo's Corporate Employee Assistance, California Department of Mental Health, Scripps Healthcare's Partial Hospitalization Program in San Diego, and Pomerado Hospital's Outpatient Psychiatry.

Mindful Eating

Based on my popular seminars on Mindful Eating attended by hundreds, this intensive 6 week workshop will discuss how to apply the techniques of mindfulness to eating; how to differentiate biological urges for food vs. emotional urges; and how to consistently eat small portions and maintain your ideal weight or set point.

Mindfulness in Everyday Life

Mindfulness in Everyday Life teaches us that meditation isn't about sitting with our eyes closed. It's about using our everyday stressful, annoying, anxiety provoking, or mundane experiences as an opportunity to connect with our mind and body, and to find inner peace. This weekly support group inspires participants to put into practice the life changing principles of renowned Zen master and best selling author, Thich Nhat Hanh.
