Do you feel stuck in patterns that lead to stress, conflict, and/or withdrawal from life? Are you struggling with anger, fear, confusion, or sadness? Are you dissatisfied with life and don't know why? Having the courage to admit that things aren't going well is the first step to changing them. My general approach to therapy is collaborative, mindfulness-based, and interactive. I support you in being less identified with habitual ways of thinking and feeling that keep you stuck in patterns that no longer work. I have helped many clients discover freedom by being less reactive and more compassionate with themselves and others.

My approach is grounded in the mindful study of present moment experiences (thoughts, feelings, moods, body sensations). I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method Therapy, attachment-based psychotherapy, and mindfulness-based body centered therapy

I am a seasoned therapist committed to helping you clarify and reach your goals. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about how we can work together to increase your emotional and psychological health. I meet the requirements for supervising LCSW and LPC candidates. Please email me or give me a call. I am happy to answer questions.

An Introduction to Self Compassion

This retreat will focus on the three key components of self-compassion: self-kindness, a sense of common humanity, and balanced, mindful awareness. Kindness opens our hearts to suffering, so we can give ourselves what we need. Common humanity opens us to others, so that we know we aren't alone. Mindfulness opens us to the present moment, so we can accept our experience with ease. We will do meditation practices that cultivate mindfulness, kindness and a sense of our shared humanity. There will be periods of instruction and sitting, walking and movement meditation.
