A catalyst may be a person or a thing that precipitates a change. When you see the change, you can be the change! As a licensed clinical social worker I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, groups and families in the areas of trauma and resilience, anxiety, depression, as well as grief and loss. As a member of the gay community, a presenter and writer in this field, I have worked with folks that are moving toward being fully integrated in their lives. Matching what we know about our inner selves with our outer selves and celebrating ourselves within our communities, may require some assistance along the way.
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you.” Maya Angelou What is your story and how will you tell it? Therapy is about your story and looking at how you will create and share it. Creating the space for you to tell that inner story, review it, honor it and shape it is how I approach working with people seeking support.
Everyone has strengths. Finding your strengths is part of understanding your resilience. Using a survey tool from the field of Positive Psychology we will work to help you measure and understand your strengths, build on them and increase the use of them to move your life forward as your own catalyst and potentially as a catalyst in the lives of others.
